Tonight we head President Bush speaking to the American people concerning Hurricane Katrina, letting us know he felt compassion for those suffering from death of loved ones, destruction of homes and everything one processed. But now is the time to build, yes, we will look into the total reason for the inaction of government. We need to make sure this is not going to happen again. We know we are in an area where nature can totally devastate an area, but we have got to have better building codes. We can’t let what happened, happen again. He accepted blame as our President for our slowness to respond.

I was pleased at the amount of times he referred to God and how he appreciated the Churches of the area. To see people rally around helping regardless of race, color, or creed was truly the American Spirit.

We are a nation founded upon Christian principle, not a dictator government, but a government by the people for the people. I feel like we are beginning to see the woes coming upon us as a nation and we need make sure our trust is in the Lord and experience the blessedness of the Lord. We are saved by grace and grace is not without the knowledge of sin. So lets look at Ephesians 1: 7  which gives us a better reason we need the conviction of sin for it says, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”

Isn’t it a great blessing, to see the thousands of people coming together and helping the victims of Katrina, especially the Christian community? To see Rick Warren being interviewed on Larry King Live was very encouraging, for the Lord is the only hope. Pastor Ed Young who is the pastor of the Largest Baptist Church has open their Church doors for whosoever, and teaching people how to volunteer. Franklin Graham and Samaritan Purse along with many other denominations is helping out in great numbers.

But to see people who want to help with providing trailer homes and campers are not able to come in, which causes lots of confusion. We are seeing thing I never thought would happen, for the heart of man is desperately wicked  who can know it? But thanks be to the Lord, we know who is in control, (if) we let Him. To God be the glory for the great things He is doing in our world to continue to bless the Christians and the world if they accept Him. So let’s continue with or study of Ephesians.

The 6th verse says, “To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”  Can we see where the emphasis is?  Not on man, but upon God, for He created us for His glory, by giving us grace to be accepted into the Kingdom of God. One can also see the importants of making wise decisions based upon His promises. We do not obey the enemy of our souls, but obey the creator of our souls. He wants us to know we are blessed with spiritual blessing for He has chosen us, predestinated us, and adopted us for His glory, making us a peculiar people.

The last sentence you read, Paul many times was a slave in prison, but he is without blame, for he is always under the protection of the care of the Lord. Can we say; thank you Jesus for obeying the Lord? Then Sunday the hurricane Katrina struck, leaving millions of people with a decision, do we leave or do we stay. Now we know the rest of the story for maybe thousands have perished and who know how many will suffer for life.

Only God is holding our world together when we are seeing ourselves out of balance. Then in Iraq a thousand people perish over someone yelling  something about a suicide bomber, and people throw themselves into the Tigris River killing themselves. Thank the Lord He is still in control if we let Him. Out of disaster we find people coming together in order to survive.

We are so smart what can’t we make and do? We have all the understanding and knowledge, but what do we lack wisdom? Wisdom is the ability to take the understanding and knowledge we have and putting it into common sense. Who do we blame for what we see in Katrina’s path, the government, the local officials, and even God, when all we need to do is look at how smart we are? Where do we build and how high do we build, is it able to withstand nature? God want us to obey who?

The devastation we are seeing requires we all work together, regardless of race, religion, or color, to bring order as we accept God best for the area and our world.

Could God be sending us a message he is coming soon and what we do must be done with the full knowledge of a heaven to gain and a hell to shun?
