May 28 2010 What a week as we are still in Cincinnati, Ohio with our son Dale and his family enjoying one another and seeing what is happening in his home with 3 of our grandkids now having graduated. It is great to see and have peace in the home and see God still at work refining all of us as we accept His word and abide in the vine. Dale took me in the back of his motor bike and I enjoyed the air blowing around my face at 70 miles an hour. What a feeling of safety and danger knowing one mistake and we could be wiped off the earth. We saw what make the area a place people want to live for it is rich in types of soils and industry, plus the tranquillest, no war, no out of control people on the roads. Yet I knew there were many areas of frustration, in the homes and industries we were passing, even accidents somewhere, but we were safe. I realize the blessing of the Lord that surrounds those that love the Him, regardless of what is happening in our place of habitation, or circumstance we find ourselves in, this has always been a part of the world as we are seeing crime raise it’s ugly face and no one seems to be able to address what is happening. Sin is abounding in every nation upon the earth and no man is able to prevent it, for until a person has an understanding of God, wrong is going to rule. As Dale showed us the pictures of his missionary trips to Africa, Philippians, Russia, Syria, and right here in downtown Cincinnati, my heart ached for all that have not yet placed themselves in the arms of the Lord, abiding in Him in order to become a blessing. I can understand just a little, everyone sees the world in which they live according to atmosphere they were born. It is not how wealthy the family might be concerning finances, it is and has always been how wealthy a person is in the knowledge of the Lord, and how He gives understanding to all of all their senses to the degree that all is blessed as they are walking in the wisdom that God has given to everyone. Peter understood this very well for he understood the power of authority of God, and how everything else falls in to a beautiful picture when he or she is in alignment with the truth, even though everyone else around them rejects it. 18 Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh. Didn’t Paul say so often he was a servant? Here Peter is saying the same thing. Even Abraham Lincoln said, “If you want to be great, learn to be a servant, but if you’re wanting to be even greater, learn to be a slave.” As Christians that have given our all to the Lord, we are vessel’s He wants to use for His service. We are not our own, but the Lords. As we commit our lives to Him, He is going to take us through our wilderness. It is amazing to me, how someone that is mad in a fit of rage, when you approach them in a state of love, respond with a quick change of mind set and become pliable. That person knowing their behavior and attitude, just moments before, were totally out of order. 19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. Notice the order of authority is placed upon the person that loves the Lord, which then gives them the opportunity to work out the difficulties in the lives of others. I personally have experience in this and know without a doubt, that God is in control, if we allow Him to be. When we do not let the Lord rule and reign, we uselessly try to enhance our own strength, unable to do so successfully because the Lord is the only one who will give us the strength that we need. I see this in our jails, prisons and war zones, even in our schools and homes around the world. The authority that is required is accepting God’s authority rather than our own at all times. |

May 21, 2010 Here I am setting in Dale and Cathi's home in Cinn. Ohio writting this I trust your looking to the Lord as the person your following. This week the US Senate Passed Massive Financial Regulations Bill the most far reaching restraint on big banks since the great depression. Obama’s National Intelligence Director resigns Dennis Blair because of mistakes. Dow Drops below 10,000. Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon Spoke in the US Senate, this Thursday denouncing Arizona’s law of Illegal Immigrants, urging Members of Congress pass comprehensive immigration reform, to a standing crowd of Democrates. The US Attorney General Eric Holder stood as will. Are we seeing what is happening every day as Satan is out to destroy anything that represents the truth? The Texas Board of Education is meeting this week again; to determine what is going to be in our current US History text books. This is cause for some heated and tense debates. The question becomes “Is the United States of America qualified to lead the world”? One quote from the meeting was, “Travel to foreign countries, the consensus is, “The American idea has become a cruel joke, a deranged and myopic; dangerous, country.” Let us pray that we never forget what made us who we are, where we are, and where we are headed as a nation. We fled the old world and its dogmatism, to a world occupied by other human beings. Who were treating others as slaves, as the Indians had others working for them. So at first they got along with the Indians, as they taught them how to farm in this new world. Soon as anyone else experiences when you get together, there are arguments, misunderstandings and wars. In the end the Indians were sent to reservations to survive, within this republic. The country began to find freedom as they accepted Godly Principles, which became our Constitution and Bylaws of this great Republic, represented by the people. Let’s not slip to a psychiatric disorder, lead by literalisms’ intellectualism, but accept the truth of the fact Jesus is the way the truth and the life. He created us. We are now a global world in economics, religion and government needing to make sure we treat all with respect, doing what is right. We can’t be braggadocios, but factious if we are going to see change for the betterment of all mankind. Let’s get back to see what Peter saw as he was living his life before others in his day for clues on how we then should live. 1 Peter 1:11 to 2 11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain fleshly lusts which war against the soul, 12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation. Notice the emphasis Beloved sojourners and pilgrims a thought of endearment, God knows we are just passing through and what we do we must do hardily as unto the Lord. Resisting the lusts of the natural man, that is warring against the Spirit of God with in us. Remember we are body; eyes, ears, smell, taste, and feeling. Then the Soul; imagination, memory, affection, conscience and reasoning. Then the Spirit, Faith, hope, worship, reverence and prayer. Are we not seeing conduct that is not proper in every area of our lives, for we seem to feel like we do not have to be responsible for what we say, or do. That is the reason we do not know who to trust today for everyone seems to want to determine what truth is in their own eyes. I personal feel we are living in the time of visitation by the Lord as He is allowing Satan to control so many people even the Jewish people and those in many of our main line denominations, this is causing us to make sure we compare Spiritual things with what is holy and righteous, or we are all going to perish. |

Here are just a few head lines that concern me as an American for we are seeing some frightening things that spell not relief, but disaster. Alabama having a Bible Brawl as a candidate for Governor, Bradley Byrne says, “Evolution…best explains origins of life”. God is dead on the Supreme Court. Are Justices upholding the law? Arizona’s Law concerning the States immigration , was not read by Attorney General Holder. What is going on, are we not able to see the truth of what is happening? Governor Mike Huckabee had Jon Voight declaring our county is heading down the path of Socialism as we had better rise up and resist peacefully. Peter addresses some strong principles that we need to pay attention to as citizens, if we are going to continue to be a blessed United States of America.
1 Peter Chapter 2:1-10 1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. It is very important we are able to lay aside all the things in our lives that cause others to be uncomfortable. There are 5 words here that we need to be in control of. Malice an active ill will, evil intent, or state of mind, that’s bent on hurting someone. Malice is intentional doing something evil, as if it were ok to do. Deceit is the act of representing as truth what is known to be false; a deceiving or lying. A dishonest action or trick; fraud or lie. Hypocrisy-mimicry, a pretender of sanctity, to play a part, to separate, choose: Pretending to be what one is not, or to feel what one does not feel. Envy-having hatred or ill will, a feeling of discontent and ill will, because of another’s advantages, possessions, resentful dislike of another with something that one desires, desire for some advantage, quality, that another has, an object of envious feeling, ill will, spite. Evil speaking is very common in the United States for we have lost all sense of morality. We listen to evil speaking on the TV and in public arenas. As a boy growing up in a Christian home we were taught morality and what malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and evil speaking did to one image as a Christian. It is important to always remember who we are, so we do not have to depend on evil as a way of life. Many people are bent on doing what is evil and they enjoy evil. We begin needing help in every area of life as new born babies, but we are supposed to grow up to function in such a way we become a blessing to others, not a curse. When we are raised in a Christian home that showed the love of the Lord it is no sign we will automatically become obedient to our teaching. Christians are not hatched it is a life long process of becoming more and more like the Master Shepherd. People have always had to choose who they are going to worship, serve and honor. I have many times tasted the ugliness of sin and had to throw it off, or I became lost and undone. 4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, Every time we come to the Lord for His help, He is always present to give us the support needed to build upon the solid rock Christ our Lord. When everything around us is falling apart, the Lord gives us life and ability to not be rejected by man. Rejection is the worst word I can think of, for that is taking away ones right of belonging to others and bounding. Yes, man is not able to forgive himself, but God can. It is not what man thinks of man, but what do we think of God. He created us, ordained us and provided everlasting life, if we would only trust Him, only believe, have faith in God. That is when we are able to experience joy unspeakable, full of Glory which money can’t buy and more precious than gold. 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. You and I have the opportunity to follow and obey the Lord. When we do this body of ours becomes alive and beautiful regardless of the human look, or circumstances. God is greater than all our situations or circumstances and able to give us empowerment to do what He wills. He is building us and as long as we are alive the Lord is improving, or building us up in our faith in God. Since the Lord cleanses us up and renews our hearts, as we ask forgiveness and accept His love and mercy. His grace is still flowing because of the sacrifice He made 2,000 plus years ago. Salvation is something can not provided for one another, but God gave us the gift that keeps on blessing for all eternity. |
