Oct 29 This is a week that we will never forget for I went to see our regular Dr Dan Doornick to have him look at what was I thought at first a spider bite October 7, as the left side of my face under the jaw swelled up to the middle of the ear. It went down a little, but after Doctor Doornick looked at it, he knew it was a growth like tumor, so sent me to a specialist who gave me a antibiotic and med for the congestion starting in the chest the same day. We waited for a week and the swelling did not go down, so got another appointment to see him last Monday when he had me go to Memorial Valley Imaging to have a cat scan. Then Tuesday saw me and said, he needed to take some culture samples of the area to determine rather it was benign or cancerous. He said we would have to wait unto Friday for results and if it is benign he felt comfortable in doing it here in Yakima Regional hospital next Wed, and if cancerous would have us go to Seattle as soon as possible. Then today I had my regular physical with Dr Doornick and he was pleased with my blood samples and the condition of my body, he agreed with Dr Palmer Wright and had me take a EKG to see the condition of the heart, so I would be ready for surgery soon. Now this was a totally surprise, as one night you go to bed feeling good and you wake up with a swelling on your neck thinking a spider bit you, to find out it was more serious. I have been preaching from 1 Peter the last few weeks and seeing the Lord wanting to take all our problems and give them to Him, Turn Lose is now what I am faced with, I can either worry and fret, or trust the Lord and have faith for what He is going to take us through next. It is not my life, as much as it is the Lords life, He has given to me. I find myself amazed at what the Lord is able to do as He gives us the assurance that all is going to be will, according to His riches of grace and mercy. We do not need much faith when all is going well is what we taught, but when things are not what you would expect, then your faith is really tested. Yes, I have been sick before and knew the Lord was in charge and all was going to be ok soon. Now my faith is still in the power of the Lords ability to do abundantly above my expectation. Thank the Lord for the Assurance we have of knowing God created us and gave us His Son Jesus, that we might have life abundantly and blessed regardless of the circumstance and just before He went back to His Father God, He gave us the Holy Spirit to comfort us, when we needed it the most. So thank the Lord for His peace, understanding, power, grace, mercy, forgiveness, acceptance, and Has including me in the family of God. So we appreciate already all our friends prayers and thoughtfulness at this time. Now back to John 6 This is He who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. Jesus when He began His ministry was baptized by John the Baptist, then when He finished His ministry on this earth he died by Crucifixion, shedding His blood running down from the cross upon this earth, representing the world. It is also water that breaks when the mother gives birth to a child and blood is very much apart of the birth as well. Oh that we might see the power of being born again as we accept this new birth and see the transforming power of the Lord. We used to sing a song called, Nothing but the Blood of Jesus; What can wash away our sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus, what can make me whole again, nothing but the Blood of Jesus? Notice it is the Spirit of God that give us life abundantly and free, all because He paid the price for our salvation upon the cross of Calvary. The Spirit is truth, remember when the Lord created man and what He did that gave us life. He breathed in the nostrils, or mouth of man the breath of life and that is all men, but what do we do with the life that is in us. Use it for our benefit, or do we use it for the benefit of the Lord and the Kingdom of God. Grace is a powerful word to those that have accepted Gods way truth and life. We do not deserve God Grace, but when we obey the Lord it is like obeying the thought to breath. Everyone that breaths is not a follower of the Lord, or a believer, only those that ask, accept and believe and confess their sins, then are walking in the light. That is having their lamps full of oil, so they are able to see the truth of the word of God. |

1 John 5: 1-5 Keep your voice!!! Speak out against EVIL |

We are in an age when our freedom of speech is being attacked and people are getting fired for speaking their opinions. We are seeing Fox News and those who are trying to warn us of pending judgment being watched, with the Government forces becoming critical of what they are saying. May we see the enemy does not like freedom and is doing all he can to do away with truth and righteousness? So keep your faith and do not give up telling other the truth. 1 John 5 1-21Chapter 5 1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. Who ever believes is a strong statement, for it implies there may be those who do not believe. When we believe that Jesus is the Christ born of God we are saying that God is greater than anyone else, or anything else. I like Barnes’s Notes on the New Testament and his analysis of this chapter. THIS chapter embraces the following subjects: I. A continuance of the discussion about love, 1 John 5:1-3. These verses should have been attached to the previous chapter. II. The victory which is achieved over the world by those who are born of God. The grand instrumentality by which this is done, is by the belief that Jesus is the Son of God, 1 John 5:4,5. III. The evidence that Jesus is the Son of God; or the means by which that truth is so believed as to secure a victory over the world, 1 John 5:6-12. In this part of the chapter the apostle goes fully into the nature of this evidence, or the ways in which the Christian becomes so thoroughly convinced of it as to give to faith this power. He refers to these sources of evidence: (a.) The witness of the Spirit, 1 John 5:6. (b.) The record borne in heaven, 1 John 5:7-if that verse be genuine. (c.) The evidence borne on earth, by the Spirit, the water, and the blood-all bearing witness to that one truth. (d.) The credit which is due to the testimony of God, or which the soul pays to it, 1 John 5:8. (e.) The fact that he who believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself, 1 John 5:10. (f.) The amount of the record, that God has given to us eternal life through his Son, 1 John 5:11,12. IV. The reason why all this was written by the apostle, 1 John 5:13. It was that they might know that they had eternal life, and might believe on the name of the Saviour. V. The effect of this in leading us to the throne of grace, with the assurance that God will hear us, and will grant our requests, 1 John 5:14,15. VI. The power of prayer, and the duty of praying for those who have sinned. The encouragement to this is, that there are many sins which are not unto death, and that we may hope that God will be merciful to those who have not committed the unpardonable offence, 1 John 5:16,17. VII. A summary of all that the apostle had said to them, or of the points of which they were sure in the matter of salvation, 1 John 5:18-20. They knew that those who are born of God do not sin; that the wicked one cannot permanently injure them; that they were of God, while all the world lay in wickedness; that the Son of God had come, and that they were truly united to that Saviour who is the true God, and who is eternal life. VIII. An exhortation to keep themselves from all idolatry, 1 John 5:21. |

God Hand upon the Miners of Chile and ? 1 John 4:1-10 |

What a spectacular week as we saw 33 miners in Chile rescued after spending 69 exhausting days in the belly of the earth. To see them come out of the capsule with a look of tremendous pleasure and thankfulness to God and those who helped in the rescue was a miracle happening. No one could have survived with out a strong faith in God. One of the things they wanted sent to them as soon as possible was a Bible. Strange for that is what we removed from our Schools in the 60’s. There leader Luis Urzua said, “They were lifted from purgatory, I was with God, and I was with the devil they both fought for me. “God won” “We never lost our faith.” What a story of faith in God and then we heard people who trained others how to face death in the military, talk about the need to understand there is a higher power and that is God. When a person losses faith in God, there is really no hope, for God is the creator of hope, love peace and joy. What a story for the world to hear at this time in History when many are still trying to keep God out of the picture. Thank the Lord for the fact the President of the Chilean government Sebastia’n Pinera was willing to let the rest of the world see what all happened. He said, “Disaster and politic make a volatile cocktail as risky as it is tempting” Look at what happen to President Bush during 9-11, his popularity was at an all time high, then later when hurricane Katrina hit our coast, his popularity fell drastically. I attended a Suicide Prevention Planning Meeting in the office of Nancy Fiander at the White Swan High School. It was healthy to see teachers, Indian police, State Patrol, Chairman of the Yakama Indian reservation, mental health workers for County and Reservation, plus citizens at large and ESD 101 Mental Health Department plus two pastors. Suicide is rampant around the world and we need to look at what can we do to prevent it from getting worse. We looked at the dysfunction of the families, ability of technology to spread ill feeling of despair, lack of Education to address morality that is a deterrent. We found that Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among those 15 to 25. Our Tribal Chairman Harry Smisken said, “he is not only the chairman of the tribe, but feels strongly he is the spiritual leader as will. He belongs to the Long House 7 Drums and wants others to see that a belief in a Higher power is important in preventing suicide. Having worked personally for three years as a Security person for Green Hill a confinement for the worst teenagers in the State, being a Shadow in a mental ward for teenagers failing to commit suicide and being in the ministry since 1982, I have witness many who have wanted to commit suicide, but did not, because they found peace with God and had a purpose for living. Then working as a director of a Group Home in Southern CA, we were taught what were the symptoms and how to intervene, giving us an in-depth look at all the program available. The ones that worked the best are those that proclaim the importance of knowing who you are, where you are, and where you’re headed after death? So to catch a glimpse of the truth which is, God gave His Son Jesus to come and give us life, and the Holy Spirit is present 24-7 to assist us in any problems that may come against us. The enemy Satan is out to destroy, kill and maim mankind, for he hates the things of God, so only God is the answer for any problem we may face as humans. I am looking forward to what is going to happen next as we as a community come to grips with not only suicide, but other areas of concerns to our youth and adults. It seems that we have accepted wrong for so long, we are now forced looking at what can we do in every area of life to make matters better, not worse. Thank the Lord, He wants to rescue us from the wages of sin and give us life abundantly now, as we put our faith, hope and love in the Lord.Chapter 4 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Growing up in the Yakama Indian Reservation as a young boy, we experienced a few times people that wanted to come to Church and have a part to play in the service. They were not all the time Indians, but people that did not come on regular bases and had to be asked to stop what they were saying, or to leave. We are seeing people in society that are doing what ever they want to in debasing others, to make themselves look good at the expense of hurting people. Even religious type people who are fanatics in their thinking and beliefs, cause untold feeling of frustration. Just Friday when my Brother-in-law and I where riding the metro from Downtown to Lloyd Center in Portland, an older gentleman who was already on, was confronting others with obnoxious remarks, some one confronted him and he stop and chewed him out with vulgar language and turned and walk toward us, going beyond us and talking about how he was god, and using filthily language and asking people for money very quietly. One gentleman did not want to give him anything, so he pushed himself closer, making the person confronted feel uncomfortable and he didn’t pay him any attention, he got mad and mumbled out loud vulgarities. What a picture of man at the worst possible condition, showing the power of the enemy to control ones life. We are seeing it on National TV as world leaders are defying the right of others to have a history, or to try and delineate other races from the planet. Everyone has a Spirit and when that spirit is tried the real person is then seen as angry out of control, or anger in control. May we be able to provoke others to good works by our anger, rather than to more violence, and wrath?2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. Are you one that is able to confess that Jesus is come in the Flesh and died that we might have life abundantly, as we accept His love, grace, mercy and hope. We are seeing many religious people that preach successfulness with any cost, everything is prosperity teaching. May we understand that living the Christian life is one of victory regardless of race, popularity, wealth or image, or any other circumstance we may be confronting? God is able to walk with us and talk to us, regardless of our lot in life if we allow Him to become our Friend. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. It is easy to be fooled by those in ministry, or those in authority for we are taught to obey those who rule over us. Let’s be careful we do not accept wrong behavior, or attitude from ourselves, or from others, for we then are not able to see the truth to confront the evil that is in the world. There are many antichrist in our world that is people that think they are god and can do and say whatever they want to say, for that is the way it is. Many like to read the Bible and give no regard for what it says, but feel comfortable in knowing they have studied what they think it means, rather than what it really says to all. Reading the Bible is having the ability to listen to what the Spirit is saying to us, for the Bible is all inspired by the Holy Spirit, which is personally giving us counsel, teaching, and the knowledge and wisdom to act according to what was read. The Bible is of no private interpretation, or it would not be just. God is just and will have the final say in what is done, and who is going to enter heaven and who is going to be sent to hell, not man. |
