Spirituality in America was the head lines for September 5, 2005 “Newsweek” magazine, which was an in depth report from www. Beliefnet.

As I read this I was sadden to know that everyone that thinks they are Christians are not, for many follow there concept of God, not what the Bible says.  God does have a people who have been called out and set aside, to represent the Lord of Host. Romans 1: 21-32 Not everyone that believes in a God has accepted God as personal savior. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Doesn’t this sound like we are performing as Christians? It’s as we abide in the Lord, and do His commandments, performing in a way others can call us Christians.  God isn’t going to make the decisions for us, we choose to obey and when we do that gives us love, joy and peace.

We are seeing the mega Churches growing, but are we seeing changed lives as the old man passes away and the new man comes alive? The mark of a Christian was a name given by the Greeks and Romans to describe follower of Jesus, who they saw as a reproach to their religion. Anyone who believed in Jesus understood they were called brethren, the faithful, elect, Saints, servants of the Lord. This really bothered the Romans for they felt threaten by these adherents of Jesus Christ which were a peculiar people.

Christian was a title of honor, for they were fighting against social, racial, and religious prejudices. The Roman government looked at them as a threat, today many of the followers of religious cults are working at making sure Israel and the United States are destroyed.

I here many times as a Chaplain, my church is the only Church and if you do not believe like me, your going to hell. Some feel like it doesn’t make any difference of what you believe, it’s my way, or the highway. Everyone believes in something, or some one, but the Bible say, the Lord is the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father but by me.

So when you read Romans 1: 21-32 one understands the importance of walking in the way, from being in the way. Are we glorifying God as God? Or are we glorifying our denomination and religion as the only right way to believe? Let’s understand the word Christian is a term that applies only to followers of the Lord. That’s People that are servants of the Lord. Philippians 1:  1 Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: 2 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Col 4:12

12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

2 Timothy 2: 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

So I trust as you read the news and listen to the reports of men, your more interested in what does the Bible say. Are we not seeing more divorces and reprobation than at any time in our lives as Christians?

Stand firm upon the solid rock Christ Jesus and you’ll never get to the place you have it made out side of the Lord.

I trust you are known as a Christian without saying a word, but just living the Christian life as your testify of Gods, grace, mercy and love.
