Here in Chapter 5 Paul is still showing the reason of Justification, he is wanting them to see it as the foundation of our faith. He is giving examples of what happens when we abide in the vine and how God produces within us fruits and justification is one of them. Romans 5 New King James Version (NKJV) Faith Triumphs in Trouble 5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[a] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. It is having faith in God that allows the Holy Spirit to endue us with power of being justified as pure before God. It is Justification that takes away the guilt of sinning and makes way for peace with God and others. That is, what a friend we have in Jesus is sung. When we accept by faith Gods justification there is a relationship of Him being a friend of ours. One can’t be happy without God as a friend. The good news is, being the best for all to have peace and goodwill. God is still our peace and without Him we are surly going to fail. It is up to us having faith and hope to reverence and worship God, so our prayers are heard by our Father. Not of works so we could brag, but of faith in God, that gives us grace as we abide in Him, so we can then rejoice in our hope, that is in the glory of God. We are by nature born sinners of Gods wrath. The carnal mind is enmity against God, we have been bought into it, as we could not have gotten into it by ourselves. We are led into it as blind, or lame, weak being led by Satan, but now the peace of God as our friend sticks close to us, helping us, assisting us, by communicating to us, making us assessable to His will. It is the Lord Jesus Christ that leads us to His grace as we abide in the vine. The Lord is the Author and finisher of our faith and we need to keep on believing the Lord is sufficient, He is enough. This allows us to stand, or abide in the Lord to discharge all guilt and shame as we are judged by God, not cast as criminals, but we are now empowered to be secured in Him. As we stand or abide resting in the vine, we are moving, pressing forward to the mark in Christ our Lord. That is the reason for the Song Onward Christian Soldiers. For we are in the Army of the Lords. This is knowing the Captain of the Army to experience the confirmation in the favor of God’s love, that He who began a good work will perform it. Philippians 1:6 Not only Grace, but the Hope of the glory of God, that is seeing heaven as our home forever and ever. The more we see what is going on in our world the more disappointing one becomes, that is the reason when we look at the grace and hope that is before us, we rejoice for Heaven is going to be rejoicing in God as Savior, Lord and King forever and ever. What glory lies ahead of us as Christians. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. It is only as we are abiding in the Lord can we glory in tribulation, we glory in tribulation, for Christ tells and shows us, they are counted worthy to suffer for it, for it worketh patience not in and of itself, but the power of grace of God working in us, with the tribulation producing perseverance, which is patience at the greatest degree. So, abiding in the Lord produce perseverance that builds our character. Look at Jobs Perseverance, or patients that allowed Him the ability to stand fast in His faith and hope in the Lords will. He was tried and persecuted losing all but never forsaking the Lords hope, and grace. It gave Him great faith making him not ashamed. There is nothing more perplexing than being disappointed, and faith in God will never disappoint anyone, for God is the same today as yesterday and will be forever our creator. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Now hope does not disappoint, or make ashamed, for God took all the shame of our sins upon Himself, as He was nailed and placed upon a cross, to bear all our sins guilt and shame. Notice it is the Love of God that is poured out upon His creation and wants all to receive this good news, as they are comforted by the Holy Spirit. God is like a sweet ointment, perfuming the soul, like water nurtures the crops in the ground. It is still the love of God that binds us together, so we are not ashamed either of our hope in Him or our suffering for Him. 6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. See we are born in sin, so our character is evil and weak to do what is right, we have not had any strength to do right until God gave us His Son, Jesus; to empower us for His service. Your seeing when we have no power, or will to do what is right, right will never happen. It is when we can’t help ourselves, we call upon God for help, it when we can’t, God can. That is the reason that God sent His Son into the world to save sinners from their helplessness. Greater love has no man than to die for an unrighteous person.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. Yes, as humans we may die for the righteous person, but the unrighteous, no way. Yet when the Lord comes into a person life he or she is willing to do what is best for anyone.8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. But God showed His love to all, for He loves all in our world, that includes the wicked who are ungodly. There is no greater love than what the Lord showed to all upon the cross for while we are yet sinner, Christ died to save all. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. This is the benefit of abiding in the vine; Jesus for as we exercise our faith, God gives us justification by His blood, giving us new life and we remain in Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Before we are saved we were all enemies of the Lords death, but when we accept the truth we realize our need of repenting and becoming reconciled in that relationship with God, that is needed to have good relationships with others. This is the reason as Christians we need to love our enemies for they have a soul as will. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Accepting the way, truth and life as we abide in the Lord gives one Joy unspeakable and full of glory. We are saved from wrath and now are see blessing upon blessing. As Christians, God paid for our salvation giving us the assurance, we are going to achieve our Potential in the Lords reconciliation, or atonement, as we received His Son Jesus as our Lord. It is God that wants to give all life full of blessing, as we abide and stay fixed upon obeying Him, for what is best for all. 12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— 13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Adam and Eve disobeyed and God punished them along with everyone. to be born with the wages of sin death to the way, truth and life, so all have a need of a savior, to forgive us of sins. Jesus was given to save us as He paid for all the sins of the world. Everyone is a born sinner, in need of forgiveness, so we can be forgiven of our sins that Jesus died for on the cross, so we might come alive and live for Christ, as the old passes away and all becomes new. Death is a product of sin and sin is dying out to Gods love and we then die going to hell, but when we accept God and abide in His Sons life, we come alive and live forever when we do die and go to Heaven 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. Death is still happening as the result of sin and the Holy Spirit of God is convicting men of sin, for God gave the Law to Moses to set people free as they sacrificed animals, but when Jesus came into the world which He created, He came to set us free from the law of sin and gave us a new spirit that wants to worship, reverence, have faith and hope in God to answer or prayers. So, our soul imagination, reason, memory, conscience and affection is now upon the Lords will for our lives, so our bodies five senses are saved by the blood of the Lamb of God. 15 But the free gift is not like the offense. Salvation is given to us by Jesus, giving His life we can’t do live without, in Joy and peace, and that is the reason God can take away the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. Adam was told not to eat of the forbidden fruit or he would die, but God in His grace gave us forgiveness so we can overcome sin. That is being empowered by the Holy Spirit to resist sins pull, as we abide in the vine, producing good fruit for all. 16 And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. This gift did not come from Adam, but through Jesus Christ as He died that we might live. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. Judgment came because of Adam on man, so he was condemned and one man Jesus came with a gift of eternal life to give us the right to be justified. 17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Yes, what a truth, all because of one man, we are undone, lost in addiction to sinning, but thank the Lord it was because of one man Jesus, we are bought back to our senses and are now marching in the Lords Army. 18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. That because of one man’s sin we are made sinners condemned yet God did not give us the Spirit of condemnation, but of a sound mind where we can Call Out God help me! 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. We are judged by Gods judgement sinking in sin, lost and undone, unrighteous, ready for hells judgment and God came to set us free from the law of sin and its death. So, all can have eternal life as they accept Jesus. 20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. Our hope and faith is not in the law we reverence, worship and obey, it is now in Jesus Christ our Lord as we obey Him. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. The disobedience of Adam ruined us, but the second Adam Jesus, saved us out of sins reign and gave us righteousness, so we could have eternal life as we abide in Him. Sin sets off the reign of life, and God gave us Grace for eternal life through our righteousness implanted in us because of Sanctification, through the power and efficacy of Christ, the great prophet, priest and King, of His Church, as we just keep abiding in Him. That is like taking soap and water to our flesh and keeping the body clean so we are keep clean, as we accept abiding in the vine, and letting the master gardener take care of our bodies, souls and spirits! I trust your walking in the way, truth and life of the Lord and leaving the life of the natural man submitted to the Lord of your life.
