Chaplains are real people who represent God in all facts of life. As it has been said, our greatest gift is presence. When we go into the jails and prisons, we take the presence of the Lord with us. It is not I, but Christ that lives within us, that give us, the power to say and do, what the Lord would want us to do. Our job is not to be Jesus, but to represent Him as the King and the Lord of all. We are all ambassador for Christ and what we say and do, affects those that are around us. 2 Cor. 5:20.Are we seeing the need to cry out for help, in order that God can begin to mold us and make us into His image? What we see is going to effect us in a positive way if it is Gods truth, but if a lie we are going to suffer the consequences of our sin. We do not determine the results or the consequences, they have been set by Almighty God. That is why we must cry out for help at all times, even when we think things are going well.
We are created in the Image of God with a body, soul and spirit each of which have 5 basic senses.
